First Time Waitressing

Tonight I work as a waitress for the 1st time.... heheuhuhe can you imagine me waitressing?? ^^"
I think it went alright, other than the broken plates and fallen glass.... >.>
I got 5? [I think so] tables tonite and I made $20 only... >.<" It was a slow night ok, not because of my performance... *g* I wasn't supposed to waitressing tonight, but they couldn't find people to work coz suddenly everybody couldn't work. Terrence, my manager, was desperate bcoz he only got 1 person to wait table. So, he asked me when I worked lunch time.

Terrence: (jokingly) why don't you work as a server tonite?

Me: I can do it as long as you bring my tray (teasing him) *Our plates are really heavy and we have to carry those in 1 big tray.... >.<"*
Terrence: Yeah, actually we can do that. [he left me after saying that, so I didn't take him seriously and left the subject as is.]

**And then he came back and told me that I'm working.

Terrence: OK, you'll work as a server tonight. Francisco (the bus boy) will help you bring the food.
Me: [speechless and grinning like an idiot coz I still don't believe him.]
Terrence: At least I have 2 servers now.
Me: Are you serious? I'm working as a server?
Terrence: Yeah....
Me: ok..

So, I broke 3 plates, no it was actually 2 plates and 1 bowl coz I still had 1 plate on my hand and I picked the bowl, and splashed the damn mustard all over my shirt n pants. Luckily I could brush them off with towel and water - no visible spot left (actually now that I look at my pants, I can see the spots...grr... >.<"). This is my 1st time breaking something in the restaurants too...^^
And then, when I tried to refill the water, the stupid glass fell and I got water all over me!!! Thank God it was water and not something else.
Luckily it was in the station (our spot for refill drinks, type in order, etc), not to the customer.
I couldn't imagine what will happen if the glass fell to the customer..... *g*

Anyway, that's my story for today... Now I know how it feels to be waitressing, coz usually I only help them refill the drinks, take away the plates, take the orders if they're busy; but mostly just refill drinks and take away the plates, even that I do it seldom...... ^.^"

I'm going to bed now, I'm beat.
Tomorrow I have to wake up early so I can catch the early bird show for Harry Potter....heuhueheh early bird so it's cheaper coz it's the 1st show of the day.... =^.^=

The World is Full of Weirdos

Man, the world is full of weirdos!! Last night when I worked, there was this customer (an old guy) who came to place an order to go. I took his order.

After I'm done taking his order, I told him the total.
Old guy: Is cash okay? *DUH! of course it's ok!! Can't believe that he asked that question. >.>* [Francis (the other hostess) started to laugh when she heard him asking that. I wanted to laugh too, but I was too amazed at him to laugh... ^^]
Me: Yes, it's ok. Can I have your name pls?
Old guy: Why?? You're too young for me... [I was speechless!!!] *Err... excuseeee meee..... How the hell can he think that I was trying to hit on him??? He's an old guy, for God sake!!! I don't know if he was
trying to be funny or what - he wasn't smiling either - but if he was, that is so not funny ok! It's creepy!! Like I want to go out with him... he could be my grandfather... >.> Altho' he wasn't bald, just fat... heuheuhehueh*

I hate working on Sunday. Coz I have to work with this old manager who gets upsets easily over small things. But I have to work coz nobody can work on Sunday. The only person, other than me that is, who can work on Sunday is Amanda si bule gila. But Terrence (my other manager) doesn't like them to work together bcoz they always fight and yell to each other.
That manager's name is Eva. I hate working with her. She can't talk to you nicely, always yells at you. And she likes guys better than us girls bcoz she always nicer to the guys.

Sometimes well everytime actually ^^, I want to yell at her to stop bitching at me.... >.<" Even when you ask her nicely, she'll bitch at you! Ugghh... why don't they fire her?!?!!?! She's been working forever in that restaurant, since the 80s probably. That's why nobody can yell at her except the boss.
And bcoz we changed our computer system, she became more easily upset since she's too old and hates new technology coz she doesn't understand it and keeps forgetting how to do things. Since there's soooo many problems occur every Sunday (don't know why, those problems just happen every Sunday), I keep getting yelled at. Shit!!

And today, we had lots of complaints bcoz the deliveries were late. I hate dealing with those complaints... sometimes you get lucky and the customers will talk nicely to you. Also, today she was already in a bad mood - that's what I think coz her face was grim and sulky the whole night. She even bitched to Nathan, who she's usually so nice too. She didn't let him charge the tips to the 9-persons-table.... We usually charged the tips automatically if they have 6 persons or more. Nathan, Amanda (the other hostess) and I was bitching about Eva when she wasn't there.... huehuehe... I think she's on PMS... It's her time of the month... wakakakka... ^^

Oh, I got another story about weirdos... heuheuhuhee when you work in a restaurant, you'll meet a lot! Last Wednesday, I went to eat at Sushi Yama with Ayu and Sal after we played badminton. Yep, you read right, I played badminton....actually I play it once a week now... couldn't believe it myself.... heuhuehe...we'll see how long this'll last ^^

We were talking about our jobs and Ayu told us this story about her coworker. I forgot her name, I think it's Sandy. They went to Blue Fish for lunch. Sandy looked at the happy hour menu and said this, "Hey, let's try the hot sake (the drink sake)!" She pronounced it as sake as in for God sake. Huahuahhahauhau we were laughing sooo hard!!! OMG, it was soo funny.

And then she had the hand-rolled sushi (look at the pic on the left). And guess what she did with it?!! She opened the roll and started to take away some stuff inside the roll and put it aside. And they (Ayu and her other coworkers) was looking at her... Ooohh man, we (Ayu, Sal, and I) just kept laughing.

Then, Sandy wanted to use the soy sauce (you know those soy sauce bottles that have 2 holes on the lid, right?! If you don't look at the pic.) You wouldn't believe what she did with the soy sauce!!! She OPENED the bottle and started to pour the soy sauce!!!!!!!! Huhauhuahuahuah OMG, can you imagine that?!?!?! It's like she never goes out to eat or something.... or maybe she's just retarded...kekekkee... =^__^= I don't mean to be mean but come on, you gotta be kidding me. Is this lady for real??????

Huehueuhe... had enough of laughing for tonight - man, I couldn't stop laughing whenever I remember Ayu's story. ^^"
I'm stopping here, I need to catch some sleep since I have to work tomorrow morning, I have the lunch shift tomorrow at 10:30AM. But I have to wake up at 9 AM more or less coz beauty takes time...kekekeke.... ;D

Are You Wearing the Wrong Bra???

I watched this on one of Oprah's shows. Huehuehe I love watching Oprah... ^^ This show was about wearing the wrong bra and finding the right jeans . Too bad I couldn't watch this particular show because [again] I had to go to work. Heh...work sucks! If only I can get money without working...don't we all wish that.. U__U

The show told us that if we wear the right bra, we could look thinner, leaner, and better. I think that's right... well..at least according to the before-after pictures that's right. ^^
Apparently, most (meaning: almost all) of the women around the world are wearing the wrong bra!!! Including me, I guess... Hmm.. no wonder I look fat....huahaha *g*

Accoring to Susan Nethero. there are tips for finding the right bra. Oh, and go to here too for more tips.

1. First you need to measure your boobs. Go to lingerie places. You could do it yourself but I did mine at Victoria Secrets and Gap... heuhehe.. they offered to measure, I accepted.

2. Underwire is a must for big-busted women. So, it won't be saggy, you know...^^ To test your underwire, Sandra says you should sit down when trying on a bra. That's a great way to make sure your bra isn't pulling away from your body. The cups should be secure against the breasts with the center of the underwire flush against the cleavage area.

3. If your weight goes up or down by as little as five pounds, you need to change your bras. Uh-oh... we need to spend more money.... We need to spend for new clothes and bras now.

4. When we buy bra, we have to make sure that it fits in the looses hook - the third hook ladies, if you don't know...

5. Our bra should be level front to back. This means that the back part shouldn't be higher than the front like what we (almost) all do.

6. The perfect position for our breast is midway between our shoulder and our elbows. I think it means that our breasts should be parallel (err...parallel?? not sure if that's the right word) with oithe middle of your arm.

7. Susan says, "keep going up in the back [increasing their band size] instead of getting a deeper cup. We want to keep the back lean and small so we can lift the bust. [The bra band is] like a bridge, if it's properly planted at the base, it can lift."

There're also tips for finding the wrong bra:
1. If our cups are runneth over, then we have to go up a size. What does that mean runneth over?? Does runneth mean that our breasts are going to fall out of the cups? I think so... in fact, I'm sure it is! Hmm.. I guess I have to go up a size then... heuhuehuh ^.^

2. If our cups are dimple, then we have to go down a size.

3. If you have the dreaded back fat, you probably think your bra is too tight, but you're wrong—your bra is too big. Wearing the bra lower on your back with a smaller band size will completely eliminate the back fat. I don't get it. I thought that if we wear bigger band size, we'll cover the back fat?? I guess not, huh?! Btw, which one is the band? Yg mana seh itu band?

4. If your strap falls down, that means your bra band is riding up and you probably need to go down a band size. Hmm... I thought that if I tighten it, the problem is solved. Apparently not, huh? =^.^=

So, after I follow all this I should look thinner, leaner and better right? If not, I'm gonna sue you Susan Nethero, Oprah and whoever else involved with the show!! I'm gonna follow American's habit of sueing people...wakakakka... *Peace people, please don't sue me* ^___^V

Hair Pill

Last Friday I watched NBC5 news. One of the headlines for the news that day was hair pill. The achorman said that now we can make our hair curly or straight by having this pill. @___@

Too bad I couldn't watch that part when they talk about hair pill because I had to go to work.

Imagine that, we can choose what kind of hair we want by having that pill. We don't have to struggle for hours with curling iron or straightener.
Even though they haven't find that thing that can make us switch our hair shape, but they've found out what caused hair to be curly or straight.
I think that's interesting. ^^

Hmmm... I wonder if they've found the"tool" to make hair always smooth, never have split-ends, and always shiny yet. *g*

Gak penting/Unimportant stuff

Do you believe in ghosts??

I skipped last night's class and went to the movies. I know...what a good student I am, huh?! ^.^
I watched Four Brothers and The Exorcism of Emily Rose. I watched 2 movies since it's $1 movies and Tuesday is 50 cents day. Isn't it awesome?! 50 cents for a movie, it's even cheaper than buying a chocolate bar!! Whoever thought of that is a genious!! ^__^V

Have you guys watched The Exorcism of Emily Rose? Damn, but this girl can act!! She looked like she was really possessed..... She is good, man!
There are some scenes that made me jumped (a little bit, not high jump - if I jump that high, somebody'll probably throw their shoes at me hehehe).

Watching this made me remember when I first saw somebody got possessed. I was in 2nd? either 2nd or 3rd grade. My friends, my sister and I just got off of school and nobody picked us yet - the mothers went shopping probably and forgot all of us who waited for them patiently at school. ^^
We decided to go to the cafetaria's owner's house, whenever nobody picked us yet, we always go there. We walked there and when we got there there were a bunch of people gathering in the living room. It was really noisy because everybody was talking to each other and someone was shouting. That person who shouted and yelling turned out to be the one who got possessed.
Everybody was holding on to him - I think it was a he, couldn't really remember. There was a priest too.

When we heard the noises, we went to the living room. But before we got in someone told us to go from the back and don't come out. And so we went to the back but not after we saw him.
After we got in, we were asking each other what that was all about.
My friend told me that it was somebody got possessed. I don't know how he knew this, maybe he was eavesdropping while we were trying to figure out what happened, who knows.
After we found that out, we got curious since we never saw someone got possessed before. And so we watched them. I couldn't really remember what I saw but I remember that I was a little scared of him. Anyway, we couldn't watched them that long because someone found out that we were watching and took us inside.

I didn't think about this when I saw him. But now after I got older and watched this movie, I think about this whole demon - ghost thing. Does it exist? I don't know. Can people really got possesses? I guess so...since I saw that person.
But still if you ask me if I believe in ghosts, my answer will be half and half. I kinda do and I kinda don't.
I kinda don't because I've never seen a ghost before and yet I heard stories from friends and families about meeting ghosts. You know how we kids like to scare each other and torment our little sisters or brothers. The older cousins, sisters, brothers, friends like to torment their youngster with scary stories and yet we like to be tormented and asked for more stories... @___@

I kinda do believe in ghosts especially since you could still find black magics in Indonesia and since the people do believe in that kind of things.

Hmm.. Writing this made me remember that 1 time when I played jelangkung (that's Indonesian for...... I don't know, I couldn't think of its name right now. But it's a board full of letters and numbers and there's also a "yes" and a "no." You ask for the spirits/ghosts to come and ask them questions.)
I was scared to play that thing but then I wanted to know if it really is real. We played it in class using paper and pencil. It really moved. I don't know if it was the ghost or my friend but it moved.
Fortunately, the ghost or whatever that is didn't stay with us after we're done. Since people there believe that if the ghost doesn't want to go home after we tell it too, it'll bother us until we take them home, whatever that means.
After we're done, a teacher found out that we've been playing that game and she yelled at us in front of the class. Gosh, that was soo embarassing! >.<"

Hmm... when I read at my writing (this blog) again, I think I do believe in ghosts then..... ^^ At least, I hope I don't have to meet one first to believe it. @__@
I guess since I grew up in a country full of cultures and legends - ghost legends too, I tend to believe in this kind of things. =^.^=

Talking - er.. I mean writing- about jelangkung remind me of the Indonesian movie called Jelangkung. I haven't watched it. I've been wanting to watch it but I haven't been able to ask somebody to buy it for me and I couldn't find it here.
I heard it's really scary and when they made this movie, they did find the ghosts in their video. >.>

I was just thinking that my blog today is creepy heuhuehe... I watched this movie and I just finished reading The Historian which is about Dracula. Hmm.. it seems that lately my preference is all about creepy stuff... I guess this is the after effect of Halloween, huh?! ^^

Around My Life

Sunday, November 13, 2005

People...please!!

Just got home from work and created this blog. Still trying to figure out some things. Ooo well, I'll figure it out later.

I'm sooo tired... didn't have enough sleep for the last couple of days... Makes me a little bit cranky too hehehe... and I have to deal with those stupid customers who think that they are the royalty or something. Last night there was this lady who wanted to order to go. She wanted a sweet & sour shrimp. And then, guess what?! She asked us, "How many shrimps are in the order??" What the hell?! Do you think I don't have any jobs to do other than counting how many shrimps are in the order?!? >.<" Hmm... I think if I better do the conversation thing.

Dumb Ass: How many shrimps are in the order?
Us (the other hostess n I): *Looking at each other* Don't know... *then we asked our manager who passed by us.
Mgr: I don't know. *He asked the kitchen guys* 15 shrimps.
Us: 15
Dumb Ass: what 15?! *I though she was unhappy because it's so little...but then....* It's 1 order. I want 1 order. * she's upset bcos it's too many?? ?__? Have no idea dude!*
Us: Yes, it's 1 order. There're around 15 shrimps in the order. It's not that big a shrimp.
Dumb Ass: ok..ok..fine.. And I want fried wonton with that.
Us: *looking at each other again* what kind of wonton? I told Irene (the other hostess) maybe it's crab ranggon, since it's the only fried wonton we have.
Us: Is it crab rangoon?
Dumb Ass: No!
Us: Does it has any cream cheese in it?
Dumb Ass: No. I want fried wonton!

** we looked at each other again...speechless... well madam, we know our menu ok! The only fried wonton we have is that stupid crab rangoon! - Too bad we can't tell her this.^^

Dumb Ass: Nevermind! I'll just get that shrimp.
Us: Ok... then Irene ask her..."Ooo.. do you mean the fried noodle?"
Dumb Ass: I don't know what it is called. I guess that's what it is. I know you have it. I've seen it before. *Well, if we serve it, of course you've seen it before, duh!*
Us: If what you mean is fried noodle then yes we have it. It's called fried noodle.
Dumb Ass: Ok fine, whatever. *Minta ditimpuk abis gak seh ini org?!?!*

Then, Irene asked for her name. I forgot what her name was, but Irene typed idiot on the order...hahaha... We didn't give her the receipt, so she couldn't find out that we changed her name...^.^

Man! I don't know what she was so upset for!! It's like she's on PMS, you know. What a dumb ass!!

Oohh!! There's another thing that I hate doing it... It's cleaning the menus.
People, PLEASE!!! Menu is to be looked at not to be dripped by foods or sauces!!!!! Don't you know we have more than 1 menus?!? We have a lot, ok!
We serve the fried noodle - yes, the very same thing that that stupid lady asked for ^^- with mustard and sweet & sour sauce on the side. And most of the people will drip the sauces on the menu. Why can't they decide first and then eat the noodle??

I know that if you work in restaurant business, the customers are kings. But please don't abuse it... Cape tau ngelayanin org2 kaya gitu.. ih minta ditimpuk! Emang dikira cuma ngelayanin dia doank kali yeh... ^g^

Ooo well, I'm going to sleep. I have a headache now... It's probably caused by lack of sleep. I'll bring my crankiness to bed now.

Blog

Hahaha... I opened an account too finally. ^^
Mayan neh buat menyalurkan kenarsisan gue n buat jadi tempat komplen2 gue...huehuehuhe... ^.^
